Job Summary

The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst position supports system level M&S Verification and Validation (V&V), test, and associated analysis activities for the governments Search, Track, Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) M&S models. This position provides analytical support for specific test phases required for fielding Army weapons systems to include pre-flight assessments, ground tests, and post-flight reconstruction. The analyst will provide comparative feedback between the simulation runs and live test execution to the government as required and for test campaigns as needed. Candidates efforts will further the STARE LTAMDS goal of achieving accreditation for simulation models that will help predict tactical performance.

This is a full-time, on-contractor site position located in Huntsville, AL just outside of Redstone Arsenal Gate 9 in Redstone Gateway. The candidate must be a resident or able to relocate to the area.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data reduction and analysis tools to support the V&V effort.
• Perform comparative analysis between simulation data and referent test events using defined performance parameters and acceptability criteria.
• Perform deep dive analysis on the simulations when deltas occur between the simulation runs and the referent test events.
• Support and contribute to technical interchange meetings (TIMs), program reviews, and integration and test working groups, providing analytical insight and recommendations.
• Assist in the creation of V&V supporting documentation (report, plan, technical briefs, etc.).
• Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to government stakeholders to support model accreditation and decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or applicable STEM degree.
• Understanding of programming languages such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Python, and/or MATLAB.
• Fundamental understanding of radar systems and radar performance principles.
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules.
• Able to travel 15-20% of the time.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with radar hardware, radar architecture, and/or signal processing.
• 1+ years of experience with Air and Missile Defense systems, data analysis, Flight/Ground tests and system modeling and simulation and/or system performance analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for technical documentation and presentations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and author accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information.
• Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of program operations requirements.
• Understanding of VV&A methodologies, including development of sound testing methods and applicable criteria, requirements management, and analysis functions, including crosswalks and traceability between M&S and weapons systems.
